How to Throw an Impromptu Party!

I found this little gem on Skinnygirl Cocktail's FB and just had to share! I mean, sure the video is shameless self promotion, but they do bring up some really great points. I've pointed out in several other blog posts that when I'm planning a party it can take me DAYS to prepare and by the day of the party I've driven myself mad with preparation. So quick tips like this (and you know I love me some quick fixes. lol) can take so much stress out of party planning, especially if you don't have a lot of time.

Party Hostess Mode! Activate!

My Birthday party (which I of course planned myself since I'm an uber perfectionist) is this Saturday so I've gone into full Party Hostess Prep Mode. This means my week is about to be filled with an obscenely over the top cleaning regimen and obsessive party planning and prep....my poor husband.

Quick and Easy Monkey Bread w/Caramel

Prep Time: 25 Min
Total Time: 1 Hr 30 Min
Makes: 12 servings

(Pillsbury's Monkey Bread)

INGREDIENTS

3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
4 cans (7.5 oz each) Pillsbury® refrigerated biscuits
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
3/4 cup packed brown sugar

DIRECTIONS

Grease or spray 12-cup Bundt cake pan. 2 Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in 1-gallon bag. Separate dough into 10 biscuits; cut each in quarters. Shake quarters in bag to coat; place in pan. Mix butter and brown sugar; pour over biscuit pieces. 3 Bake at 350°F for 40 to 45 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 5 minutes. Turn upside down; pull apart to serve. Serve warm.

If you don't have a Bundt pan you can substitute 2 (9x5-inch) loaf pans for the Bundt pan. Divide the biscuits and butter mixture evenly between the loaf pans. Decrease bake time to 35 to 40 minutes.
